Hi

I have been away from riding for a few years and wanted to get back into it now.

I previously had a modified R6 and had a few 'scares' due to my eratic riding..

I always promised myself another bike once I matured somewhat and would be getting a Harley just for relaxed Sunday riding.

What I dont want to do is fork out for a Harley only to leave it unridden / waste 1000's so bought myself an old banger to get back into it. If I dont use it I should at least get my money back.

Its an ugly duckling, but I do have plans to customise it. I like the styles of Bobber/Cafe/Brat etc

Anyway here she is as I bought her.

I used to have one of these, it went to another BCFer a few years ago.
There is a good forum if you need any advice for it - https://viragotechforum.com/

Be careful not to burn or melt your trousers on the pipe.

You won't get a lot of love on BCF for choppers and bobbers but fair play, if you have a finished idea in mind then crack on.

I had one of these for a few years. Same year but the low-bar varient. Irridium plugs make for easier starting, mine was a bitch for getting the plugs wet with fuel on a cold day. Those motad pipes are the only aftermarket ones with a collector box like the original, anything else will give you mixture issues.

The reserve relay is notorious for failing when you need it most.

Check the front forks havent been filled with stupidly thick oil. The geometry casues much dive under breaking, but over-damoing the front makes for inconsistent static sag and a really skittery front end.

Avon roadrider/cobra combination works very well for tyres, i was unimpressed with conti milestones.

TCI (what passes for an ECU) is very vulnerable to destruction by a short in the loom. I had to do a significant amount of rewiring. Be careful.
