Hi there,

Looking for some second opinions on the pricing of a bike. Kawasaki VN800, 2003 with 69K on the clock. Full Mot until April 2018 and has no priors. Very nice bike. What would be a reasonable asking price based on age and mileage?

Cheers!

Condition can be as important as age and mileage. Well kept higher mileage older bike can trump newer neglected one with lower miles. Ebay completed listings advanced search can provide almost as good a source of guidance as anywhere else. After a cursory glance I'd say anywhere between £800 and twice that, depending on...stuff.

E.g. £2350 bought an ex cond one owner 6k miles bike recently:

What was the first answer that you didn't like?

eBay says:

11,420 miles = £3000 (I doubt money changed hands)
5,800 miles = £2350
4,200 miles = £2300
20,000 miles = £1291

As opposed to one of those partial MOTs?

So, just over half an MOT.

Convictions?

At that mileage, it'll be everyone's last choice. Price it significantly under every other private sale example on eBay, and expect offers in the hundreds of pounds.

I'm guessing it's worth more to you than to anyone else.
