Crossed a line now really. Po po won't chase them because of worries to their health, but attacking paramedics is putting other people's lives at risk.
Did anyone see that 'This Morning' clip about this on facebook. Bloke putting the blame and responsibility on the manufacturers

Well, it's not as if, when attending a 999 call, they've got anything better to do...

Thug life's with corrosives "could" now be given life (but probably not), even if their aim is shite.

Quote:
Ms Saunders said that other charges that would be brought included inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. It applies when serious injury is caused and carries a potential life term.

Offenders who miss their target or fail to inflict injury because the victim is protecting themselves will risk an alternative charge of throwing acid or a similar corrosive substance with “intent to maim, disfigure or disable” a person. It too carries a maximum life sentence.

I thought they already did? https://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8029007.stm 'Sylvestre, who threw the acid, was also given a life sentence at Wood Green Crown Court in north London. He will spend at least six years in jail'.

Not sure how life equates to 6 years though Thinking

That is for using it, think the amendment is attempting to use it, even unsuccessfully can result in "life" (aka 6 years), and carrying it around 4, shopping trips home to unclog the drain will be a mare

Mmm, actually using it has always been a shoe in for GBH with intent.

The problem is that if po-po is search you, dey can't do you for nuffin for it, blood, plus dem is being racist and that.

Annoyingly, essentially harmless pepper spray is prohibited because it is "designed or adapted for the discharge of any noxious liquid, gas or other thing", but a bottle of face-dissolving acid isn't.

This poor chap seems to have had the grammar-centre of his brain dissolved. Sad

When they installed CCTV on every lamp-post, wasn't it meant to keep us safe rather than merely entertained?

What does this actually achieve? They're dumped in a cell for a couple months at taxpayers expense and no obligation of remorse.

It's not a deterrent.

It stops them nicking things while they're inside.

Nothing else will do so.

I mean, short of death or potato. Which I'd far prefer.

Technically; but realistically specific people have been jailed for it and it didn't decrease the problem because it's ongoing/increasing.
Others take over, so, what does it actually achieve? Confused

Others aren't waiting in the wings until their mates get busted, they're active at the same time.
