I have just bought this Tailpack from Sportsbikeshop and for 15 quid it's excellent value. It's a semi rigid construction, 5 litre capacity. It attaches to the bike via straps on the zip on zip off base. Inside is a small net pocket and a padded hold down bar. I'm not sure it's waterproof but I'll give it a spray with waterproofer anyway and I also bought one of those large black shower caps that I use on my small tank bag as a rain cover. Only time will tell how rugged it is, but for now I'm happy with it.

I have the Q bag tail pack I use it for my chains. Not to fussed about the waterproofing
But I can definitely recommend it for the purpose I use it for it gets unzipped at work leaving just the base on the bike.
