Heading off for three weeks in Europe with Deaks, we are going to end up in Slovenia but going via the MotoGP in Austria and the Dolomites for some mountain passes.

Sadly today was motorway mile munching so here is a picture of the right bike for the job and the wrong bike for the job posing somewhere in Belgium.

Right, day 2 of my Euro holiday with Deaks. This was yesterday but I am having issues with hosting photos at the moment so I am a day behind and will have to attach for now.

Anyway, riding from Ulm to Munich! It was only 97 miles so we decided to stretch the dqy out by avoiding the motorways and sticking to the more rural routes. We rode until we accidentally found this beautiful looking town called Landsberg and stopped for some lunch.

https://i.imgur.com/xgrUkcu.jpg
https://i.imgur.com/h5N5uRd.jpg

We then aimed for Amersee which is a massive lake. All of the roads were 100kph unless riding through towns, then it was either 50kph or 30. Roads were nice sweeping bends that gently rose and fell, bit like riding on a race track! On the way it absolutely pissed it down 😞 I did not take any photos there.

Pordoi Pass today, it alternated between being sun and rain all day. I'll add some pics as soon as I can get them to upload to Imgur.

EDIT - it started off nice! Cortina to Canazei and back again via some mountain passes, up to 2200m above sea level. First stop off for some scenic photos then on to the Pordoi Pass.

https://i.imgur.com/MZNDF6V.jpg
https://i.imgur.com/t1S51xy.jpg

Then it started to rain. Then we saw the lightning. And then it hailed. So we pulled over for some hot food as it was really cold and my waterproofs leak right at the crotch.
https://i.imgur.com/r2eRypV.jpg

Onwards again and trying to dodge the rain.
https://i.imgur.com/oz5ZLlC.jpg

It did eventually brighten up enough to dry the roads out so I pulled over in layby for this shot.
https://i.imgur.com/Uj5jZkw.jpg

Then back to Cortina where it started raining sbout an hour ago and hasn't let up since! Tomorrow we are moving on to Austria to do the MotoGP at the Red Bull Ring Thumbs Up

Out to the sticks, on the 'ped with the missus on her vanvan to give me a lift back. Sold it and delivered it to a 16 year old, who took a loan from the bank of mum and dad and who was like a kid on Christmas morning.

He's not road legal yet, but he's already riding it round their small holding. They have Shetland pony lawnmowers Laughing

didn't really want to sell it, but needed to, it was fun while I had it though Thumbs Up and it's gone to someone who is going to use it, 6 mile commute to college.

Like a mong, originally posted this in the "What have you done" thread.

Local hoon, bout 30 miles or so, much fun was had. Geezer at Tescos whose bike I parked next to came over for a chat and told me about fairly active bike thieves in the area. So shall be buying some extra security as soon as payday rolls around.

Couldn't decide whether or not to go out on the bike at first. Not going to beat anything I've done already this year, it's all just an anti-climax now.
Got out in the end cos it's better'n sitting at home doing nowt. Breakfast butty at Keswick first, then went along Borrowdale, over the Honister Pass and to Buttermere.

https://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b550/nicknicklxs/DSCN0463_zpshlyvm66n.jpg

Whiteless Pike:

https://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b550/nicknicklxs/DSCN0464_zpswzpomtaq.jpg

Still wasn't really in the mood, so parked up by Crummock Water and picked a fell to climb instead. Nothing too big, as I'm a bit ( Laughing Rolling Eyes ) out of shape; that'll do:

https://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b550/nicknicklxs/DSCN0486_zps4ktsd8ys.jpg

https://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b550/nicknicklxs/DSCN0475_zpstmgl5ebf.jpg

Red Pike:

https://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b550/nicknicklxs/DSCN0476_zpszfbswc5w.jpg

Turned into a bit of a scramble:

https://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b550/nicknicklxs/DSCN0507_zpsb0reesjo.jpg

Which was awkward, as I had the bike jacket tucked under one arm, so only one arm free for balance, and bike boots probably weren't ideal either.

Crummock Water and Melbreak:

https://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b550/nicknicklxs/DSCN0512_zpsfembhdsd.jpg

Looking out to the Solway Firth and the hills of southern Scotland:

https://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b550/nicknicklxs/DSCN0526_zpsgo7sdpp7.jpg

Then decided I'd really had enough for the day, so went back to Buttermere for an ice cream, sat looking out at Haystacks, High Crag and High Stile in the warm sunshine. Then it was back to the cafe in Keswick for a cuppa aaaaaaaand! Home-made cake! And bought two extra slices (one is orange and chocolate, the other ginger and lemon Drooling) to bring home Smile No pics of the bike this time, but I did go on it, honest.

I did this last summer; got 3/4's of the way up Skiddaw at about 7pm and realised many things such as: Fuck i'm knackered, fuck i've got a long walk back, fuck i'm hungry etc etc.

I'll be bringing my walking boots next time!

An evening Hoon from Dundee to Braemar via Glenshee with two best pals. Fish and chips at the Hungry Highlander for tea. Cracking evening for it, so it was.

Did a 9 day trip from, UK to Croatia vie France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia. Then looped back up through Austria. Camped 8 of the 9 days. 2500 miles in total for me, little less for German friend.

Very fun trip as always, fun breakdowns, big ass storms in the alps, met some wild people, almost got heatstroke. Might make a thread as ive got a shit load of picture.

Annoyingly both our bikes survived yet another trip so will prob use them next year.
