Being a youngster I maybe less susceptible to noticing the differences in uprightness. I'm just simply stating that the thundercat felt damn close to the fazer in terms of seating position

Once you start thinking Thundercat, then you might as well be looking at the CBR600F as well. It starts to drag in a whole different class of bikes.

If you can't find a Hornet in budget, do keep an eye out for a FZS600. They're knocking on a bit, but I really liked the one that I tried, it felt perky, agile and eager, like every 15 year old should.

No. The Hornet is the CB600F and makes close to 100bhp.

The CBF600 makes about 76BHP (MCN data) and is generally regarded as a dull commuter.

Ahh, potentially dodged a bullet there then, will definitely be looking for the CF600F Hornet then

But why would they make the names so damn close

Also, i'm sure i have seen listings for CBF600 Hornets

Case in point, so what exactly is that one below then?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CBF600-Hornet-599cc-/202014602268?hash=item2f0902341c:g:yvcAAOSw6KVZifNf

That's a Hornet, as baffler said don't get them mixed up Razz You should be able to get a speed four on budget, but they have a more aggressive riding position (than the Hornet etc.).

It's funny how people go on about the CBR600F being upright, when it makes my back cry.

All I'd say about the Hornet is, is got a poor range compared to other bikes. My mate had one and had to fill up every 90 miles. The Fazer is a similar bike but i regularly got 140 miles out of a tank. If range isn't an issue then it would just come down to which bike you prefer and what comes up locally

Thanks for the heads up, but it will be a purely pleasure bike, so not too worried about mileage
