Ok, so I'm short, middle aged and cheap and looking to pick up some second hand leathers on eBay. I've spent my funds on a good set of textiles a leather jacket and a couple of pairs of Kevlar Jena but I feel I should have some leathers.

I've seen some on eBay but to get something that fits my chest and waist leaves me with something that's built for someone 3 to 4 inches taller than me. Is that manageable or will I end up with knee pads on my ankles?

Go easy on me please.

Sorry, but there is no substitute for physically trying the items on before you buy.

I bought some one piece leathers a couple of years ago, I followed all the measurement guides given by the manufacturer.
When I went to the shop and tried on the specified size, for my height and weight, I couldn't actually get 'em on, (and I'm nowhere near porky). I had to go two sizes up before they fitted comfortably.

Sizing seems to vary, massively, from brand to brand, if you can't try before you buy, don't buy, IMO!

I grew out of my old 2 piece Arlen Ness suit, so I had to go up a size with my new set.

But what I found was, that being 5ft 6 tall, and only 11 stone, was that I was in the same situation as you, the arms were near 2 inches too long for me on the Spyke one piece that I wanted. But it was cheap so I bought it anyway and took it to a tailor. They shortened the arms for me for around £45 from memory, now it's like a glove Thumbs Up

I'm 178cm tall, 12 and a half stone, 40 inch chest and 34inch waist.

I were medium sized shirts.

My RST one piece leathers are XL, and are still on the tight size

Go figure.

''Tis the reason I don't buy clothing online"

Just keep trying on until it fits.
