Hi all,

I went for about 3 weeks without touching the bike. Now that I've started riding it again, the EML comes on every now and again and I can't put my finger on why it must be because it doesn't affect the performance of the bike, the light just comes on for a short while and goes off. Quite annoying, any thoughts?

Also, SOME times the bike will slightly struggle to start, I just have to hold the ignition button for longer. Don't know if this is connected..

I have a 2010 YBR

I think there is a flashing light that should display a code. i.e. 1 long flash and 5 short flashes = code 15. You should be able to look up this code online.

Is it a fuel injected version? If so check your battery and give it a charge, my bike had a problem where the battery was low and not enough volts were getting to the injectors and the engine management light came on. The bike had still started fine but the battery later completely died.

edit: Looks like Yamaha ditched the carbs in 2007 so yours will be injected.
