Hi All,

Slightly odd question, I'm after machining some of my own bar ends but I'm not sure what metal the weighted ones are made of. They seem too heavy for Mild steel and unless they put lead in them I've no idea what they're made of!

I guess maybe some sort of alloy? If anybody has any ideas that'd be great.

Thanks!

I made my own from stainless, though I wasn't actually after weight for vibration deadening.

On my BMW they are either brass or bronze. Look like bronze.

They're made from hopes and dreams. I took mine off to paint them (ZX7R, heavy bits of metal) only to find out, there was no difference whatsoever, when riding.

Hi

Suspect the cheapest heavy lumps of metal that they can get away with using. Steel is cheap.

All the best
