I have a SCART hub for my retro consoles it has an option to output the video to 2 scart ports for viewing and recording.

I wondered what the easiest way to record from that SCART to a digital format.

I want something cheap but reasonable quality.

I used to use a SCART to USB jobby a while back to rip videos from obviously VHS to AVI, they had the instruction material on there and I needed it.

That wasn't too bad... might be worth having a look, I found it on a Playstation forum, was a guy who live streamed his PS1 and PS2.

I was hoping something that would make use of full RGB Scart, looks like I'll have to settle for S-Video.

Cheers Guys.

Scart is rubbish quality at the best of times. I'd use a scart to Phono adaptor (which isn't ideal) and then buy a phono capture card.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I'm not talking about 3 phono yellow/red/white composite SCART output that is gash. Full RGB scart is the best for non HD output, short of profession BNC connections which aren't available on consumer gear. The cabling I have is pretty much the pinnacle for video output on old consoles, short of getting a PVM, even then you have to use scart to BNC connector.
