Buy motorcycle trousers one or two sizes too big. Wear them over your work trousers.

Nope don't do this. Ill fitting biker wear means in a spill loose bits may snag and cause twisting forces and additional injuries.

Don't keep us in suspense.

You say here "anything bike related near my desk" not "wearing bike related items". I agree that peoples perception of you will change dependent on your dress code, but I doubt it is going to matter much if they can see motorcycle boots and a helmet stowed neatly in a corner. This might depend on your location or industry but certainly here in London within the environments I have worked in (including Banking/Private Equity) people would not give two hoots.

In response to the OP I just where whatever trousers under my textiles and remove the outer when I get to work and have some shoes under my desk to swap in to .

too hot to layer up over trousers or to sit in bike trousers in the office (doing it now as nipped out at lunch)

Trousers arrive with me on Monday, go home again on Friday for washing, sometimes replace mid-week but it's not a sweaty or mucky environment so no one notices that they're the same trousers

Just keep them in the desk drawer overnight and shoes under the desk.

Possibly due to my specific role - Its a matrix organisation where I don't have much formal authority directly over many, and my field is not well understood in my line of work, however I am a key stakeholder to most of the business so getting people to do what I need them to do relies much on influencing and politics...

I must admit I don't really understand this statement!

I don't want to faff around changing my trousers when getting to work

If you time your main movement of the day to be when you arrive at work, it's no faff to combine with a change of trousers.

This approach does depend on the state of the floor, especially given the apparent correlation between incompetent aim and bashful bladder. Getting in early enough to be the first to sit on the throne helps. Disabled facilities tend to offer the best combination of cleanliness and space. (If the disapproval of others bothers you, cultivate an occasional limp so they don't suspect you are able bodied.)

It's getting out of the office that's a faff. But that's more a question of running the daily gauntlet of people who all suddenly remember the thing they really needed to talk to you about all day. I find they lose their sense of urgency when I tell them they'll have to talk while I change my trousers.

Then you're a monster who must be stopped by any means necessary.

But nothing improves the taking of a dump more than the knowledge that you're being paid to do it.

Ah, a PaidForPoo. Or, in my household, it's known as "buying Dobby a toy".

I'm afraid you're gonna have to expand on that before we adopt it here... are we talking "Dobby the House Elf" or "Peepshow Dobby", or indeed some other Dobby?

I commute to work wearing full gear. My uniform is the traditional shirt and trousers. Once I get there I hang up my textile overtrousers and jacket, change my boots at my desk and leave the helmet and gloves either on top of a locker or at my desk.

If I travel between sites I always use the company pool cars.

I've yet to come across any bike gear that I could live with wearing all day - especially in the summer.
