I was thinking about a visor cleaning system the other day. On the A40, in heavy traffic, just before it becomes the M40 (and then I head onto the M25) a bird scored a direct hit in front of my left eye. So some obscured vision, but worried to wipe it as a smear could be worse, and no really safe place to stop (hard shoulder would have happened if it was worse, but they aren't exactly safe places to be).

I did have a quick look at visorcat, but actually I can count on the fingers of one foot how many times a month I normally consider stopping specifically to clean my visor.

You need BirdPal®

The only oxford motorcycle product I'd consider recommending. "visormate"

A scooshy bottle with a sponge attached.

That is basically visorcat... But affordable and small enough to keep anywhere easily.

Thumbs Up

I like it.

Sub £20 would fall into impulse buy and more people would have a go...

Depends on the cost of delivering a unit, including all overheads.

£5 cost vs £20 price means £15 profit vs £30, or double the sales to break even.

£10 needs 2.5x times as many sales.

£15 needs 4x the sales.

Of course with the Rainpal model, you have no costs and every penny is keep-it-all profit.

....Actually, peeing on one's visor is a sure fire way to stop it misting up. I am sure bottling it in a little spray thing would be a more socially acceptable way of achieving this

Just an update for those that are interested.

Patent is now pending 👍
Trademark is sorted 👍

In short - it's a spray washer unit that fits to your bike

Longer version - it's a unit you fill with cleaner / water / muc off / etc. When you press the grip-mounted button it sprays a mist of it towards the visor of the rider. A wipe with the vee-wipe and all the winter grime and road spray / salt is gone. No need to stop, no need to carry extra kit or cleaning stuff.

It works brilliantly - I've been using it on my bike all year - it's useful for bugs (etc) in summer as well - but primarily it's a winter product.

Main competitor is probably visor cat.. however mine's half the price and (imho) It's better because it needs less maintenance / filling up with fluid less often.

More info available on request - I won't bore everyone on here with the details as not everyone wants to know. Wink

I want 2, 1 pointing out each way so I can spray unpleasant shite through car windows as revenge for years of being hit by screen wash.

But it shows the prototype working - which I personally think is important when bringing a new product to market. 😂🤔😉

You could fill it with piss, just sayin, the one to point at cars, not the one for your face, unless you're into that I guess.

It's not for sale (yet) 😂

Just pretend it's landscape mode and I have a very thin face / garage.

I never use my visor, I usually keep it up all the time, the most it goes down is two clicks, three if its hail or sleet.
