Keep thinking about getting the bandit out on a first time trackday! But is it worth it on a naked 650 bandit with no race conversions/upgrades made to it? New rearsets, race tires for e.g

Any advice appreciated Thumbs Up

Do the trackday as is. It'll still be fun.

I saw a fat old dude holding his own on a 1200 Bandit in the fast group at Cadwell Park on Tuesday. Go figure.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I think there's a race series that does them now.

Anyway - yes, I'd agree - 'JFRI' Smile - to start with your biggest improvement will come from more track time.
If you keep enjoying it, you may want to consider a cheap dedicated track bike, but get that shouldn't be a big issue yet.

You may want to consider stiffening the suspension up if you can, certainly after a session or two if it feels a bit wallowy.

I have to agree. We (wifie and I) got an insurance right off Fazer 600 for a track bike and had great fun on it in the novice section.

When we both gave up track riding I put it back on the road and we still have it.

I liked it because I could screw the proverbial tits off it without getting into serious trouble. I never wanted anything faster, wifie did Embarassed

600 Bandits though. Chris Newbigging from Performance Bikes raced in the series.
