I've just found out that my NSR is actually a lot rarer than I first thought. Basically I have an NSR than I got in a deal on my old bike and the bloke was under the impression than it was a "Raiden" version...I couldn't find any mention of a JC20 Raiden model and I've actually found out that what I have is an NSR125FM.

According to HML there was only 13 of these models imported, mine is only 1 of 3 bikes left on the roads that aren't declared SORN.

Because of this I have to decided to keep her (I was going to swap her for a Hyosung GT125R on a 13 plate) and restore her. Now everything is in fairly good nick anyway it's just the fairings that are a little bit unloved.

Most of it I can do myself such as paint and stuff but things like graphics etc does anyone know anywhere that do repro graphics?

Included is a picture of my bike and how she'd of looked from the factory.

Looks like a Tamiya model.

From where I'm sitting, it looks great.

I wouldn't mess with it. You can over-restore things. I'd personally rather see a bike that was clean and well maintained in original and unmolested condition than a concourse restoration.

Robs them of their soul somehow.

Also, unless you are REALLY good at it, any reproduction graphics or a respray with anything other than the correct, original finish (which will be fiddly and multi-layered) will look a bit crap.

Restorations in theory are a nice investment, but in reality always end up owing you money.

I'd put the mirrors back on and ride it as is, it looks fine.

Bear in mind that asking prices aren't selling prices. Dealers seem happy keep an oddball bike around at a daft asking price for years, just as window dressing, a conversation piece, or as an anchor price for the marque.
