Thanks grr666, when i spoke with them yesterday they advised it would be TPO for insurance and they would get the trade plates on for me, but in terms of any pre test ride agreement, nothing was mentioned so i will definitely be watching out for this because there is a couple of other bikes a want to get a feel for before making any concrete decision!

It's usually just a disclaimer saying if you hurt yourself then thats on you plus if you get caught riding too fast,
or in a bus lane or some other misdemeanour then they will pass your details onto the DVLA/Police as applicable
so they can pursue you directly. With TPO you would likely be entirely liable for the bike if you were to have a spill.
Some places (with better insurance) would just want the excess paying back to them.

Well done on mod 1
Good luck on mod 2

What bike are you learning on
I learnt on xj6 and ended up buying one
Can't fault it at all
Gave me a bit of confidence knowing I had passed my test on one

Aww cool grr thanks for the heads up and i will make sure i give it a proper look over!

thanks Wheezy! It's an MT-07 i'm learning on, really like the bike and enjoy riding it and feel comfortable/confident on it, however i've always preferred the 'sporty' look and would prefer something fully fared but definitely won't be counting a naked out if something catches my eye!

Really undecided of going all out and spending 5-7k on something i really really like, or settling for something sub 2.5k to get experience under my belt, saying that i have been on/off 125's for 9 years it's just more so experience on a bigger machine.

Thanks,

Kaz.

My first (and only, so far) 'big' bike is worth £2.5k, and I would still be gutted if I dropped it. I think value is relative, for me that was the very top of my budget so I look at it as an expensive bike, despite the fact that in reality its pretty cheap. Its an 06 Cbr600f and I have had a great time learning on it.

Yeah I don't think the actual monetary value of an item especially something like a bike is a direct reflection of the personal value it has to its owner, I like to look after my stuff regardless of what it costs me as I work hard for my money.

In relation to my last post though, I don't know if I should go all out and not care about what I spend and just 100% go for what I would love to have or settle for something less expensive which I would value not much less, have a lot a fun on and build up some good experience with it. I think even if your bike is 1k or even less to some extent you will still be gutted, at least I know I would.
