I don't know why, but I've expected to see something a bit more like this:

Good luck, hope all works out ok.
Got me thinking a bit about my own back problems (as if they can be ignored ), and part of me wishes I had never read this thread! ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

I, on the other hand, have seen rather too much of hospitals
Plus, being a smoker who's not likely to give up, I don't really feel I ought to be taking up more valuable NHS resources. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

That shouldn't really have any effect on treatment, certainly initially. It's not illegal, like drinking. I can agree with specifics, no liver transplant unless you are alcohol free etc. but where do you draw a line with lifestyle. No smoking, no rugby, no mountain climbing, no motorcycling? ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

No, I think smoking is a bit different. If you know it's going to kill you and you carry on, you only have yourself to blame. I always think it's like a kind of insanity; you know it's going to kill you, yet you persist in doing it. Of course, if I found it easy to quit, I would.
The other things you mention are about living life to the full, and I don't think many doctors would proscribe such activities, apart from drinking to excess of course. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

That is genuinely interesting and sounds like good news, I suppose.
I hope you'll be alright and at the same time can't stop wondering about what might have changed. A disc shifted into the right location, something else got where it was supposed to be?
Keep us posted, please. I'm curious about the results. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

I'm glad you dodged it for now. You really don't want to go under the knife if you don't have to.
Both my kids had major spinal surgery on the same day. Same surgeon did both, 1 in the morning , 1 in the afternoon. Was one of the most anxious days of my life. Thiers too I suspect.

This, twice.
They are both now one to two inches taller as a result and it all went well, thank god. Hell of a scar the pair of them have though.
I wish you all the best with yours. ____________________ VFR800X - TTR250 |
