I have come across a 20000mAh pocket sized pack on ebay, if any good it would be useful but the cheap ones are not on amazon, perhaps they don't sell on there because they will get ripped by bad reviews, there seems to be some decent £30 sets on there though.

Anyone have any experience? the brand I am looking at is 'popular', has the usual google translated chinese to english on there so doesnt look promising.

Looks far too small to contain a 4S 20Ah of lipo. My guess it is 4S 5Ah. Will be plenty for a bike and might do a small car. I would not charge the lipo unattended, expect fire.

Instead buy a decent 4S 5Ah lipo pack for about the same price. Also useful for cordless drills etc.. You will also need a charger, imax b6 are cheap.

Bloody hell, is that the size of an external hard drive? Shocked

It makes my RAC power station look humongous.

Would those things start a small diesel engine?

Mine, had it for 3 years now. Does 7 iPhone charges - or a full month of keeping my helmet cam charged.

How do these packs work? Are they simply connecting the output from a 4s lipo pack directly across the vehicle battery?

Dropping the voltage slightly with a couple of big diodes to avoid frying electronics?

Or something cleverer? I suspect the first as they are so inexpensive.

I have the expensive version a micro-start xp-1 and yes they will easily start a small diesel. The first thing it did after I got it was start a 6 ton excavator from stone cold. The fitter who loaned me his one said he took the battery off his transit and used one of these things to start the engine 3 times in succession. That was good enough for me.

They are bloody handy for charging phones too. Mine will charge my laptop to full or my phone at least 3 times.

As an idea of power possible...

A similar spec battey was previously available in the UK for around £60 delivered, but seem to be out of stock right now.

It's the equivelent of a '20000mah' USB charger.
