To go into a bit of detail first, some history of the bike is that it's suzuki, but made by one of thier old manufacturers. As such it has a few variations on the original gz125.
My issue is after replacing the front forks it has, using official parts, reversed the brake disk side from right to left and the speedo drive is also reversed... That has caused a big problem. My main concern is I cannot anywhere find the right forks though suzuki ones fit.
I'm wondering if anyone knows would changing the speedo itself for a suzuki one likely run the right way? Or am I probably not going to able to fix this. As a note, my only local bike shop won't touch the thing even though he sold it so I'm on my own here. I've added some pictures if the way things are currently. |
Hi, Jock1092 , it looks like they have sold you forks for the GZ125 which has the brake caliper on the nearside , the forks you should have got were GZ125hs which has the brake caliper on the offside , but both types have the speedo on the nearside, i take it the wheel is original, which might mean getting another wheel rather than spending for newer forks , will have to check about the wheel |
