Padgetts are offloading some unused rf600s I wouldn't mind one but I'll be buggered if I'm gonna pay nearly 6 grand for one.
what would they be worth?

They're not exactly collectable bikes. I'd be wondering how many seals are toast after nearly 15 years standing, and factor that in as a minimum to haggle for, after you have a more realistic figure you want to pay.

Not well regarded at the time, I'd rather have an MZ or a CB500 or pretty much anything else. Low power, subpar handling, ugly looks. Not a great investment if you ask me. About as far from 'future classic' as you can get.

I'd rather spend that money on decent used bike.

I wouldn't want this one even for half of the money.

At that price and condition you'd be buying it purely to add to a collection but it's not really a collectable bike so a bit pointless really

Padgets have offered a few deals like this over the years. They seem to stockpile new bikes and release them a few years later.
Peter Padgett used to have a private collection with brand new GSXR's, RGV's etc.

A few years back they were selling brand new 4 year old or so Arai helmets cheap. They were perfectly open with what they were and had full warranties so not really a problem as the 5 year use is from the date of first use not manufacture.

All the RF600 is good for is a source of 3.5” front wheels.

Thing is, it might be brand new when you buy it but as soon as you ride it it becomes just another 14 year old bike. Albeit one in excellent condition.

So how much would one pay for an excellent condition, 14 year old RF600?

Cos that's about what it's worth.

I wonder what condition the various rubber parts are in.

Not a concern. Since it's being sold as "brand new", it will come with 2 years explicit Suzuki warranty and 6 years implicit durability under SoGA.

Riiiiiiight?

I can say from first hand experience the fuel pipe from the tank will be degraded to fuck.

But I would assume (a mistake I know) - that they would have replaced perishable items before they went on sale.

But I doubt it.

If I was a big S man, I'd much rather have a mint first generation GSXF 600 and a mint early SRAD GSXR, both second hand for alot less cash than one of these.

The 900's are marginally more desirable to about the same level as a Thunderace etc, as they are a Q bike, that look like nothing much, but are big comfy and fast without shouting it.
