Jesus, Suzuki, Jesus.

'Currently we cannot confirm a production schedule. We will first assess reactions to the SV650X before finalising plans.

Whether or not the SV650X makes it into production is all down to the public's reaction'.

I think Suzuki bike sales are really struggling. Got a friend who works in a suzuki dealers and says they don't have alot of the bikes in stock and sent getting any soon. So people get annoyed with long waiting lists and go elsewhere...

I just don't get Suzuki styling.

It's either outright weird/ugly (GX-S1000F, Hayabusa), unabashedly middle-of-the-road (GSX-S750/1000, SV650), unchanged forever (GSXR-anything), or sector-derivative (V-Strom). In this case they've taken a shot at the Yamaha XSR-900 Abarth, but it's just a bit naff.

My reaction is always Confused or Sick, and it's never a grower.

The styling is seldom coherent, let alone pretty, or inspiring, or cutting edge. It's just a bit (or a lot) rubbish. Who have they hired to do this stuff?

What's the marketing slogan going to be?

"90% complete, will sail through an MOT."

Having just sold my 2004 SV650S and looking around it's successor.

A new SV would tempt me ... had it been a newer S model with a full fairing, not this naked adventure/retro style karp Thumbs Down

Me too.

Price it at £6199 and it would give the XSR700 a run for its money.

Might even tempt me to wax my beard.

Definitely. Although I'd hope the brakes & suspension have been improved as I found my SV650s severely lacking in that department!

Appears to be made as cheap as possible. I see the front brakes are sliding two pots. Would not buy.

Saw the 'X' and was foolishly hoping for a not-too-heavy trail bike, but expecting an overly heavy one.

Alas only that 'rally' sticker comes even close.

(Always thought the some longer suspension could see quite a nice crossing-less-paved-continents bikes.)

Kept in good nick with braided hoses the similar looking brakes on the original curvy would lift the rear from 120-130mph.
However did have to be really on the top with keeping them in good nick!

It's a shame, a modern SV650S with say, a GSX-R 600 front end and shock would be a hoot at £6995. Paint it Moto GP colours and offer an attractive PCP and the A2 riders would be knocking down Suzuki's door.

That wouldn't make the dish-water-dull engine any better.

Hwever, appreciated A2 riders may well still be the sort to see shiny USD forks and glaze over Smile.

For what it's worth; normally along with a bit of an engine tune; that sort of setup is pretty common in some race classes such as BMCRC's Thunderbikes.

I like the SV650X looks much better than the Yam, but It's lacking the V-Strom 1000 engine to take a proper swipe at it.

They need that 800cc turbo bike and probably a newer lighter and better adventure bike with the same engine, and they need them now!

Maybe that's why they are spending spare change on silly plastic add ons to dated bikes and parts bin bargain basement 250's, with no bhp. If they are putting every penny into making this 800 turbo bike range really good and class leading then it's excusable if they get it out within a year.

Kawasaki will have more FI engine bikes soon, so Suzuki need to be developing some serious and very impressive machines with snails inside.

FFS Suzuki, an SV650R is all we want. Give us decent brakes and suspension - fuck this stupid styling noise right off.

I've got got rid of an old curvy naked (2001). I prefer the older curvy/pointy style over this new X model.

It sort of looks a bit mis-mashed and a bit of a jumble personally.

Ditch the lollipop mirrors & put bar ends on it as standard as on the concept.

https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/new-bikes/2017/november/suzuki-sv650x/

And they've gone and put it on sale. At 6 grand.

I'd guess pre registered bargains of just over 5 is all they'll shift.
