Seriously it's only good as a second bike for short hops.

And that's not a bad thing. It's the same rationale as scooters.

When I commute on my Brutale, I get about 28 mpg. Independent of the cost of putting mileage on an Italian exotic, the fuel spend alone is silly. And of course it gets dirty every time it's wet out.

I'm looking forward to an electric scooter with ~12hp and 40 mile city range for £3k or less. My commute alone is about 8k a year. I'd be very happy to take that off of nicer bikes.

A friend has just bought a fold up electric assist pushbike and thats got a 20+ mile range and if you do run out you can still pedal. Thumbs Up That seems to be a much better use of electric technology.

Buy a push iron instead, comparable performance, (vs soco eco mode), and you can eat more pies!

All the recent promo for electric vehicles is grinding my gears, too many talking heads telling all and sundry how fabulous it will be.
IMO, the reality will be, unless you can spunk £80K -100k on a vehicle, you'll be stuck with a cartoon vehicle with snail like performance, laughable top speed, tiny range and a woefully long recharge time!
Unless those problems are completely eliminated the future looks extremely dull and very, very slow!

That's pretty insane...

If i lived in the city i'd seriously consider this - it would pay for itself in a year or two!

I thought mopeds were pretty good on fuel anyway. I like that it's light but it would need to be faster for me personally (even 40mph would help). Also I'd need to see the stopping distance, being silent you're going to have to do a few estops.

The styling might be ok but when you have other practical vehicles like this which are cheaper without the government giving unnecessary handouts, you have to ask why bother?
