I've got a pair of merlot Aragon which are starting to wear a bit thin in places and I wanted to know if you can get them resolved preferrably somewhere that will do it same day.

Any suggestions.

The boots ate only 2 months old so I'm a bit surprised how quickly they are going.

I see you're kind of out Essex-ish way, but if you commute into London, it might be worth a detour into Mayfair (don't laugh).

My mate Ray is a proper cobbler and currently working at one of the shoe places in Shepherd Market (White Horse Street) : there are two of them quite close together, but you can't miss Ray, he looks like, well, a biker (shaven head, scars, etc) Wub Laughing

He resoled a pair of my boots with decent thick soles, although they weren't bike boots but at least he'd give you an opinion of whether he could fix 'em or not. Tell him hellkat Jen sent ya.

I'd very much doubt you can get (proper) bike boots resoled. I know the number of times over the years I've taken shoes to a pukka cobbler for them to say, "Nah, can't do them pal".

That said, two months to have worn through is piss poor by any standards, I'd look at returning them as unfit for purpose. I had a pair of Merlin boots some years ago and frankly they were shit.

I have a few pairs of boots but the ones I wear most days are Dainese Goretex and the soles are still tip top after over two years daily use.

I'd suggest the retailer from where you purchased them be invited to repair or replace.

If they are modern style moulded boots then no, if they are like old cruiser gang type boots, then possibly. Best way is to take them to a shop and ask.

Google-Images Fu says no, you'll not get those resoled. Take them back (to Infinity at a guess, they love box shifting cheap shit) and invest in proper boots with the refund.

If you're on a budget, which I'm presuming you are having bought Merlin, then your money would better invested in a second hand pair of decent boots such as RST/Alpinestars etc. You'll find loads in great nick on eBay or even ask on the classifieds on BCF.

Yes, I know it sounds arrogant and snobbish but as a daily rider I've been through 'buy cheap buy twice' too many times with gear. Boots are a fundamentally important part of your protection system, more so than most would believe.

You Can.

GB Leather have resoled my Alpinestars boots in the past. Always done a cracking job too. They do Sidi boots too.

Linky for those who may be interested in such a service -

Sidi vertabrae/vertigo can be resoled, can't see why any of their other boots for road/race use wouldn't be the same. I had my vertigo Corsa done after 3 years of regular use. Cost £50 in all, a small price compared to £250+ for replacement boots.
Edit Monkeypony got there before me.

To be fair the boots are exceptionally waterproof I have no complaints there.

I may have a bit of trouble exchanging them though as I actually bought them about 5 months ago to do my cbt and das with but they've only done about 1500 miles of regular use over the last two months.

They'll last a while yet but I would expect a lot less wear to date.

Sounds to me like you are dragging your feet along the tarmac. A pair of flip-flops would last me longer than 2 months.

Timpsons just glue stuff on. If you have boots that will actually benefit from resoling, use a proper cobbler, they have industrial strength stitching machines to keep it on. Glue on it's own frequently fails.

If they can sort soles on my old B2's (stiff-soled mountaineering) boots, then bike boots won't be a problem.
