At the moment I'm using a CBF500 and a Inazuma 250 for courier use.

Now if anything happens and I need to obtain another bike I'm going to
be a little stuck because the latest Honda CB500 is too tall for me, I can't
get both feet on the ground. The seat is too high, I can only just get both
feet on the ground with the Suzuki.

All I need is a bike 250cc up that can have a Rack and Top Box fitted.

Any ideas?

I wish I could!!!

This isn't just a problem for me but a few fellow couriers have the same issue.

One guy has a cb500 with alterations to the front forks, I don't really want to go there unless I have no choice.

Why are you attempting to solve a problem that doesn't exist?

I can't out both feet down on an enduro, doesn't matter though.

Surely couriers never stop for long enough to need to put a foot down anyway?

Getting both feet on the ground is overrated. I'm over 6ft but I've still had a bike I could only get the toe of one foot down with and had to take a jump to get onto (MZ baghira).

Practice your bike control. Stop int he right gear. Gain confidence. Open up a whole new avenue of motorcycle choices.

Were you asking dumbass questions 5 years ago as well?

You can fit some sort of rack/luggage to virtually anything, so why don't you visit a few dealers, sit on a few bikes, then use the internet to find out who does luggage to fit the bike that suits you?

As in, there has been no changes in BCF's reaction to stupid questions?

There's no such thing as a stupid question. There are only lazy questions that don't give enough information so that a meaningful answer can be provided, which are stupid.

Cycle-ergo suggests that the CB500F's seat is 0.4" higher than the Inazuma 250. That is a thicker pair of shoes, or removing a bit of foam from the seat.

However, if you're OK with a 250 then look at the Kawasaki Z250SL + a spare pillion pad + remove padding + bolt a top box mount directly to the base.

Kawasaki's webshite is too Aaronsian to determine if they're still being sold new or not, but then you didn't say "new", you said "another".

YAY, a sensible answer, thank you... I wasn't even aware Kawasaki did a 250. I was thinking of a Yamaha YBR250 but they are so rare.

For the moment I'm okay with the bikes I have, it's just a case of replacing them when they wear out in the next few years.

I was being entirely serious. How can someone whose JOB is riding motorcycles not cope without both feet on the floor when they stop?

I find this concerning.

You really need to take a hard look at your riding skills if you've been a professional motorcycle courier for 5 years and couldn't just jump on any motorcycle in existance and ride the arse off it.

So, um, using google was out the hypothetical question?

So now I know who you are it's a bit easier.
No reason why you cant ride just about anything as long as you dial back the preload.

Easy choices are the ER6F or ER6N as they go low enough for you, want less height fit a hyperpro lowering spring. Virtually all the new Hondas have lowering kits avalable for them as do older bikes like the Deauville so this is a bit of a non question.

Just remember that you need a post 2008 bike due to the ulez.

5 years?? Been a courier for nearly 30 years....as for my riding skills, they are just fine, it's just modern motorcycles are higher than the older machines, I could ride more or less anything but now it's so different.

That's one of the reasons why I'm hunting for suitable bikes.

What's different about 2 wheels and an engine Neutral

I can ride any bike, I'm not a courier, unsure on the point. Surely just find a bike that conforms to whatever Nazi legislation London puts in place and get used to using 1 leg to prop yourself up at lights?

You could try a Yamaha xj6
They are quite low and can be lowered very easily
My son is 5ft 9 ish and he was good on a xj6 and he tried a new Honda 500 and really liked that and was a whole lot more comfortable

Quick Google should put pay to that idea, since the seat height is higher than both of your current bikes.
