Benelli Tornado would be an interesting one to own. I've never had a chance to ride one, but the 3 cylinder and radiator under the seat, are something that always fascinated me. I once saw one outside a biker café and couldn't stop staring at all the details and those two fans back.
I also heard some horror stories about the not so great reliability of the Benelli, but that never put me of buying a motorcycle.
Speaking of which, 955i daytona would be also on my list. I mean the one with 2 big round headlights.
I would also try to get a Honda VTR1000 SP01/02. This bike is playing it safe. The MPG might be crap, just like any big V2, but it will be reliable and most of the parts on the bike are generic, so easy to get. Plus, if you find a nice one, it'll go up in value. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

If it was me it would be a pushbike as that's all I could afford after insuring a 1200 (new licence holder) |

I have two mates who have had Benelli Tornados for the last 3-5 years and haven't had any issues with them at all, they have even done a few trips to France / Lux / around UK on them and never let them down.
They rave about them, do sound nice too when they gun it.
Edit: here is a pic of a VFR1200 and a Benelli next to each other from our recent trip. to save you imagining...!
