Did KTM ever recall those, or has your victims' support group not found a workaround?

Nope. I'm sure there was a fix though, but it was just bare monies?

Isn't 'selling it on' the fix?

Sounds like a case of:
Sell it and put it behind you, or;
Fix it and suck it up, or;
Fix it and issue letter before action.

What is the actual issue?

Are KTM taking a leaf out of the 'Deny everything' as practised by the BMW guarantee department.

They fitted the 1190's with lethargic starter motors on unmanly circuitry. The fix is to replace it with the 1290 starter and wiring.

as above, fitting shit parts that arent good enough.

then expect the customer to pay £500 to fit the correct one.

they did replace some under warranty if you kicked up a fuss, unfortunately mine was out by a few months. best they offered me was £100 off.

just wish i had known about this issue prior to buying the bike, then again who would know till it got below 7C...oh well i'll put my adventure bike away for 4 months till the the temps improve and i can use her again Smile

Have it done at dealer and stump up the £500, then issue letter before action. If they've been issuing a warranty fix then the fault is an obvious one of manufacturing and must have been present at the outset.

In short, by the way, for the avoidance of doubt. Stop moaning about it and DO something about it. In the nicest possible sense Wink
