Cleaning out a relatives house after they had died, and seeing how much crap ends up in the bin was kinda depressing. I think it's a good idea Thumbs Up

Aye, not long ago my brother told me "If you kick the bucket before me, I'm not sorting your crap out" Smile

Not that I'd be in a position to care that much Smile

Yeah, it's funny they way you think as you get older.

We recently moved to a house that needs doing up. As a result, we haven't fully unpacked yet (after 7 months) and things that we have unpacked get moved around a lot as we refurbish.

It has occurred to me several times that not only do we not need a lot of the still-packed stuff, the unpacked stuff adds up to a real headache to my daughters if I/we pop our clogs. It will take them weeks to sort/sell/dump/repatriate. That said, it's really difficult to pare things down too early.

The best story I've heard in this vein is a person clearing her Dad's workshop, finding a box marked, "Pieces of String (too short to be of any use)".

At least we're not that bad!

Fixing a non-problem.

You take the stuff you want, you get a charity in who will happily take the rest. There is very little they can't use.
