Does anybody know a lot about bradycardia or have any experience with it?

It's defined as having a resting heart rate below 60bpm. Mine is 43, dropping as low as 36 overnight.

I can exercise fine and I haven't had any of the typical symptoms like weakness, dizziness or lethargy.

What do? Should I worry? Waste some of my GP's time? Am I already dead?

My dad said something similar, he had a medical at work and they asked him and his beer belly if he runs a lot of marathons.

I'm hoping that I don't have to do anything with it and it just means I'll live forever. I'm definitely blaming this for me having a tub though. Must be this and not all the drinking, takeaways and chocolate.

Mo Farahs is like 33 BPM.

I thought having a lower resting heart rate was a good thing?

I also have a resting heart rate of around 36 bpm and at 6 ft 2 inches and 18 stone have been asked if I work out!
No I don't Very Happy

providing you have none of the other symptoms don't worry about it
My wife made me go for a health check at my GPs and other than the heart rate which the nurse had never seen before every thing else was normal
So if you are concerned providing you're over 40 you could book one with the practice nurse Thumbs Up

if i really feel like freaking the medical bods out, with a little concentration I can get mine down to 28bpm Very Happy

mine used to be lower than the threshold, panicked the nurse taking my stats until she remembered how I'd got to the doctors and then asked how far I cycled and average speed etc

Answer being at least 10 miles a day, usually around 15mph as average speed. At which point she was happier about things.

not under the threshold anymore!

Yes. That's why I've not posted for a while. Terrible signal up those mountains.

What's the threshold? Is that the point where you're medically dead?

Since I was diagnosed with heart failure they purposely slowed mine right down. I think I'm around 45 and I don't get dizzyness or breathlessness which I sure the doctor doesn't believe. Laughing

No, there is a totally unambiguious point for clinically dead. Zero.

That's called tachycardia. Apparently you should feel like you're on a permanent caffeine high.

I'm certainly feeling symptomatic this week with the lethargy. I medicated myself this morning with fried pork with medium success. I think I need to up the dosage.

no, the threshold for where they would usually diagnose it, about 60bpm resting

it has been known for a tour de France winner to have a resting rate of 20bpm

I average 53 bpm resting and have a temperature of 35 degrees C. I can comfortably climb the stairs at work at a rate which has the gym bunnies breathing hard. I still wonder if I'm all right though.
