I asked this question on another forum :
" Can anyone give me the sprocket sizes for Cadwell, Mallory and Donington? I'm running a ZX6r G2 (standard gearing 15/40) with a 14 tooth on the front and a 42 on the rear but i'm getting blitzed by 400's on acceleration at Donington.I've been advised to go to 13 on the front and/or 46, 47 or even 48 on the back but will this be too much and will i lose too much top speed? If i do use these sizes, will i need a longer chain?"
Conflicting advice ranged from" you do not need to change the sprocket sizes but just select a different gear" to varying sprocket sizes. Can anyone help before my head caves in?
Thanks - i think i'll lie down now!

In general you should try to gear your bike so that you reach the top of 6th gear at the fastest point on the circuit, then adjust this baseline up or down if you find yourself having problems i.e. hitting the limiter too early in a long corner or having to make too many gear changes.

I'd go with a 13t front sprocket then play with a few size of rear, try starting with 46 and seeing how this works for you. If you take a few varied sizes along to a trackday or test day you should be able to find gearing that you're comfortable with. It doesn't necessarily have to be a combination that other people recommend, as long as it suits you and your bike on that particular circuit... Thumbs Up
