At work my BCF now looks like this.

At home it is fine.

This is probably because web browsing at work it pretty restrictive, however it was fine last week and I don't know how a block would cause a website to half load. Nothing else is affected.

You're not getting the css and some javascript. CSS is loaded from 44bytes.net not bikechatforums.com - check to see if 44bytes.net is visible /usable.

https://www.44bytes.net/ loads fine, anything else loaded from somewhere external? How do you check?

Cheers,
Chris

View the source of the page or use the developer options for your browser (eg Chrome = right click -> inspect -> sources tab / Similar for Firefox) and refresh the page... you should see all the files and results (404's errors etc) at the bottom...

Loads fine if you connect to it directly, but your work proxy server is probably rejecting cross site scripting - pages from one domain trying to load scripts from another.

Only just noticed that BCF does use SSL but if someone posts some content from a 3rd party, i.e. a photo, it can't be served over SSL and you get the mixed content warning.

Never actually come across the scenario but is there any way around that? ... you can't force SSL everywhere or via a script, as images wouldn't work if the source isn't SSL and you force it to be?

Not really, serving non secure content on secure pages means you gotta break it. It's normal though, and happens more than you'd like to believe.

Either way, unless it purchase related, fuck it.

I've literally just been on an SSL spree over the past few weeks, probably done 30 installs / configs. In all cases though, nobody is posting content to 3rd parties, it's all uploaded onsite only, so this issue has never presented itself until I noticed it in this thread.

Interesting that there's not a way around it yet Thinking

I deal with the ssl and https side of stuff here for some part and the amount of sites that have https served shit and then http, then complain about their certs not being right... crazy.

However in Chris's case, the underlying side is probably this cdn now blocked on your content filter or someone has done the latest smoothwall upgrade and lunched their default policy. If you got a smoothwall/bloxx on site, there you go.
