Glad you like the new gaff.
I still find it endearing that people in Birmingham have tried to warn me about the 'rough' bits that are around where I live - they don't seem to get that compared to where I came from it's bordering on a ghost town Laughing

Just to add my thoughts I have lived here since childhood in various different parts of the town but never had any issues!

Enjoy your new house

I have friends who live in sittingbourne, they live on a fairly new ‘wren house’ built estate toward the outside of town and to be honest it seems quite nice where they are. We were there at the weekend and go on a fairly regular basis and it always seems ok.

indeed.....
its been a month now and we are very happy with the house.
the neighbours seem nice....
its quite.
there are many pubs on the main road.
can get appointment with doctors with minimal fuss.

people keep relaying horror story's about a nightmare neighbour called "arry" who thought he was some sort of bike mechanic.....but he has gone now and we are having street party's each weekend. Very Happy

I'm surprised you didn't mention your pool. No wonder the neighbours are friendly. It's presumably a long drive to the leisure centre.

Yeah I like the idea of a pool in principle but the reality looks like a right PITA.

Garage is key though. I'd never not have one now. I'll not even look at a house where the owner has converted their garage into a cheap extension.

Estate agent acquaintance (I know, I know) reckons that garage conversions typically reduce the value of houses, a fact she has trouble explaining to angryface sellers who think that because they've spent money and added a room, they must be phat dollah up.

I'm surprised planning authorities allow it. A garage conversion says "We've outgrown our house, which means we're quite a big family and, as a result, own several vehicles and we're going to react to that by reducing the number of parking spaces we have by one".

I know no-one* actually puts a car in the garage, but local authorities count them as parking spaces, hence builders near us putting in 3-bed houses with one-car driveways.
