as I don't smoke, don't drink and don't often go to a pub, I didn't have a back of a fag packet

I did have ms paint.

This is my very crude attempt to explain my design - Robo Nob(cat)

Wheels top and bottom (or just through the machine) an anti flipper design. The angles are wrong, the idea is to get something that the flipper can't flip easily, it has flails either end which are it's weapons and anti spinner traps, and it spins around tank like by rotating each drive opposite ways to make them effective.

Laughing Well it kept me amused as the news repeated panorma which I'd already watched anyway.

Needs a 12 inch black dildo emerging from its mouth to pummel the opposition. I don't think team BCF will get on the show Crying or Very sad

Fairly sure a team from the forces, RAF maybe? Did in one of the early series, but the weapon kept failing to work. Looked brutal on paper at least.

A design consultancy firm I go to has a bot made with a pneumatic ram but it didn't make it into the show.

It looks a fairly solid bot but the weapon really isn't going to do much I fear. The most likely result against any sort of decent armour, is pushing your own bot backwards.

Rams were largely ineffective in the shows early years due to newtons equal and opposite reaction law of pushing the host robot backwards rather than penetrating the victim.

I just watched it over lunch, and it looked to me like the bar hit the rear pulley of the drive mechanism, causing the catastrophic failure.

God that guy from Rapide was a smug pr*ck. Wow they flipped a school childrens robot out of the arena , not exactly much competition. I wonder what the front is made out of though and how well it would deflect some of those spinners.

The highlights from the next show showed some two wheel bot spinning massive flails around... now that could be fun..

Sat at work thinking how to make a different but effective robot... give me some time..

Not easy is it....

what about something that incorporates a shredder type weapon as opposed to a spinner ?

some sort of low ramped/scooped bot (on all sides like a pyramid with top cut off) with a low profile coiled spring on top to launch the opponent vertical Very Happy

thats my sensible idea

stupid ideas include a bot that lays gluey traps and the opponent gets stuck in them ("whoops i didnt realise my bot laid down this puddle by adccident")

a robot covered in thick rubber, with insanely rugged electronics/drive. similar to tornado but round. no weak point and offense is solely counter offense. weak vs flippers so might need to be modular.

My design is a “parasitic” robot.

It attaches to another robot and drills a hole right though it - then moves a bit on its shell and drills again. #repeat

The “how” is yet to be designed 😂🤣

I wasn't that impressed with Rapide. TBH there wasn't huge competition in that round once the spinner self destructed. Terrahurtz is a very old robot and shouldn't really have done that well. He would have been killed by Apollo or Carbilde.

Mmm, it was a bit of a cripple fight heat.

Still, that arena wrecking was worth the price of admission.

(Not literally, corrvpt scvm license mvggers).

A bit of a controversial judges decision between Androne & Tauron though, not sure what the thinking was behind that one

Keeping a crusher in it, I expect. To be fair, it did actually get some bites in, which is unusual now. But I agree, that was harsh.
