immersion heater has its own switch in the cupboard however ours uses a boiler to heat the water in the tank

Why would you even still have a hot water tank fitted if you have a combi boiler? Confused.com

Heh, so I unblicked Ovo for giggles and within a couple of hours I got a call telling me the good news that engineers will be in my area soon and I can have a free smart meter installed free of charge for free!

Sadly, I didn't full rageface as she sounded fit and I am very sexist, but suffice to say I made my views clear. Then blicked them again.

your guess is as good as mine, i have no clue why they left the tank

My house did when I moved in, it also had...

All the pipe work still in the loft, (our hot water for the bathroom still goes via the loft)

2 Broken aerials in the loft neither connected, the aerial socket in the living room was broken, and there were 2 cables going into the back of socket the one that was connected to the socket went no where. (that was fun working out.)

Broken boiler.

Leaking Sink X2 (leaking at both the fittings and the drains)

A Hole for the flue of the boiler drilled in about 3" to the left of the hole for the old flu (then filled in with expanding foam.)

Fence paint over everything in the garden.

Leaking radiators

and plenty more stuff I've probably blocked out.

Why? It was a rental property before I bought it and no one gave a shit about it.
