To be verrrrry grudgingly fairing, I have been surprised by how much climate is deflected away from me while on the racebike. I'd assumed that slippery plastics would drag it right onto me, but it doesn't seem to be the case. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Funny thing is, I've owned and ridden a few sports bikes in my time. I'm not arguing that they don't deflect the elephants somewhat when moving. But I think I can honestly say I've never tried to justify owning one because this is such an advantage on them. Nor has it ever stopped me from choosing something more upright, less faired, afterwards, or chosen to go out in the rain when I otherwise wouldn't have done
I fully admit I seem to have a bit of a bee in my bonnet about this one ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Ah, but it's not just sports bikes that have fairings, and you'll still get wet in the rain without waterproof kit. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017
