A always like to drive a hard bargain however on this occasion a think am on to a winner providing the bike is in the condition I’m expecting it to be in there for I will be happy to part with the £750 for the bike as it easily will be worth more bearing in mind the mot adds up and it has just over 13k on the clock plus he’s only the second owner after a woman bought it brand new out the showroom back in 99 Excited for tomorrow as I’m pretty confident I will own my first big bike!!

Thanks again

Kaz

13k is barely run in, but watch for corrosion. Have valve clearances been done to schedule?

I wouldn't put too much faith in buying from someone known to you. There's a strong chance there's a hidden problem or two that the owner "just got used to".

Wise words! Don't think that just because they're known to you, then nothing can be wrong

Back in Summer I was asked to look at a car someone's work colleague wanted to sell to them. Upon jumping in and starting it up, I was somewhat surprised to see the heater was on full, considering it wasn't exactly cold out

Check under the bonnet, and the expansion bottle for the rad was full of what looked like black tar, which it had also blown out at some point

I told her to walk away, there was clearly something wrong, and they knew about it, hence the heater being on flat out
