Fitted Oxford heated grips (straight to battery, relay to be added at later date). Weirdly it was the non-throttle side that was really tight. Seemed a bit weedy but I only gave them a couple of minutes, then got paranoid about draining battery.
Monday will be the true test
I look forward to having marginally smaller blocks of ice for hands when I arrive.
Also lost the end for the tyre pressure gauge ____________________ I tell you what, mathematically, I'm having it |

Dented my tank!
My 5 year old muffs were wearing out. My hands had gradually worn away some of the rubber sleeves that go over the bar ends and they would come loose on the motorway. So I purchased some new Tucano Urbano R363-X muffs because they could be screwed to the bar ends and went about fitting them.
Turns out that with a washer, the rubber end cap and a little spacer I made up to stop the rubber sleeve fouling the throttle, the bar end weight screw was too short. I need to find something longer and there was nothing appropriate in my tub of bolts.
So I decided to go down the path of using the supplied zip ties to clamp the rubber sleeves around the bar end weights on both sides. I’d already removed the bar end weights and they were jammed into the rubber sleeves of the muffs. I just needed to pop them out and reattach them to the bike before trying the zip ties.
So I stood facing my bike, holding one of the muffs and carefully squeezed the rubber sleeve to pop the loose end weight out. Well it came out like a bullet, nearly got a hand to it as it flew through the air. Could’ve hit the seat, or a foot peg, or even a bit of tough old plastic, but no, of course it had to spank off the tank leaving a neat little dent……. Bollocks!
Center of the picture, just at the top of the reflection of the tree….

Meh! Put it down to the scars of a London commuter. It’s hardly immaculate anymore and with the excessive mileage it’s not exactly going to affect the value… … because there is none. ____________________ 2016 CBF1000F - Commuter heaven | 1994 CBR600FR - Awaiting defibrillation |

Cleaned and lubed chain (takes forever now the weather has turned, making sure each roller is turning freely) - decided life is too short and ordered a chain oiler.
Checking front wheel noticed some binding. Pads off, caliper out, break cleaner, tooth brush and rag around the back of the pistons. Lightly greased piston sides and pushed them back in. Nice free running wheel again
Tracked down weird intermittent problem with front right indicator. little metal tab on the back wasn't making good contact with the back of the bulb. Nothing a little bending won't solve. ____________________ I tell you what, mathematically, I'm having it |

rode it with heated grips for the first time....about 100yards down the road. Fuel line got kinked when putting the tank on yesterday
Heated grips though! Once the hand guards arrive, winter riding might not be such a chore. ____________________ I tell you what, mathematically, I'm having it |

Stared at the Zed in disbelief after filling it up. You've done what mpg?! Good god I haven't even caned it yet. Pff, I don't have a good relationship with gas mileage.... ____________________ Current bikes: '08 VFR 800 VTEC(yo) , '07 ZZR1400 Winter hack: '95 Aprilia 650 Pegaso Currently lusting after: RC30 |

Fitted cheapo fog lights - actually really happy with them! £9.50! Obvs from China originally - but shipped from brum.
5 day turn around. Result.
Added bonus I didn’t know about.
They come with a completely illegal (yet fun) modulating setting. 😂👍
