Does anyone know what size Allen key is required for a Yamaha xj6na 2009 front engine mounting bolt or where to get the info from
I want to fit engine bars
The Haynes manual doesn't seem to list the kit required
I have tried google

Many thanks in advance

Dunno but you can measure it with a ruler. Distance between two flats in mm.

If it's 10mm or more, you can use a hex-head bolt with that size head with two nuts on to undo them using a spanner.

Thanks for that
Never thought of measuring

Just as an aside
Would a Allen key socket be better than a normal Allen key for this job

Almost certainly, providing there is sufficient clearance to get at the end of it.

You can also get drain plug keys that cover most of the large hex sizes.

I second that, I have a set of Allen Key sockets, makes the job so much easier...

Or grab a set of T Handled

the sockets combined with a rattle/windy/electric impact gun or torque wrench are a godsend when you have stuck Allen bolts*

Windy gun and allen socket is really good for getting the bottom bolt out of fork cartridges without just spinning them all dy.

However, I think you maybe meant breaker bar rather than torque wrench? A torque wrench is a precision measuring tool and should never be used to undo stuck bolts.
