Although Russians seem a bit more mental, it's partly because they have so many cameras, itv4 have a whole series just of Russian clips. Now dashcams are becoming more popular over here the clips are just as scary, maybe more as you know there's a chance of bumping into these people.

Why do they have so many cameras?
Why do Russian banks text you to confirm transaction details everytime you use your card?

Hmm Thinking

Could Russia be so full of corruption that lying and scamming is an everyday occurrence?

It's more like there are a lot of first generation drivers since private cars were hard to come by until the 80s or later.
If you see normal traffic footage it's no worse than a lot of the more frenetic European places, and better than China which has a similar 'naive' driving population.
Main roads are generally quite good standard now but junction designs sometimes seem poorly thought out.

There was an epidemic of false claims against drivers for injuries, people would run out and throw themselves on the bonnet of slow moving cars and then have a "witness" say the car driver was at fault.

The same thing is happening in China just now.

Does not even look like he's even panicking before he hits the car head on with no helmet....

Why do they have so many cameras?

The same reason(s) we're starting to use them? Thinking

It's more a general lack of honesty/willingness to accept fault than the scammers that make me use one.
