I failed my mod 1 on my first attempt. However.. I booked it and treated it as a lesson. (as it's cheaper than a lesson)

1 week is enough time to practice. You just need to go out and do a few hours a day until you can do the test with your eyes closed.

As mentioned, for the slow speed manouvers, up the revs and slip the clutch. The engine spinning faster will give you more stability. Don't look at your feet / the floor. Head up and point your eyes the way you want to go.

Better luck next time. You ought to be a little bit more relaxed, knowing what to expect.

Really? Back in the 90's it was okay provided you released and re-applied the brake.

My instructor insisted on me going around because 'you haven't locked the back wheel yet' in practise.

Threw the fucking thing sideways at him on the next loop.....

I hold the record for longest skid on emergency stop at the training place I did my tests. Was on my own bike too. Measured out around 6.5ft

First time I'd ever skidded it, calmly released and re-applied the back brake during it, switched the bike off and got off.

Instructors only words were "cup of tea then?"

Only pussies skid the rear. Squealing the front's where it's at...

OP needs to look where he wants to be going instead of at his clutch.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Hmm, does the OP still have a 125? £17 a go (or whatever it is) might be worth while, particularly if it's nerves which are the problem.

Luckily our training bikes had ABS Very Happy

I failed my first attempt because I got cocky and went way to quick in the simple exercise where you must stop the front wheel in the cones..... I did all the other manoeuvres completely fine and the examiner was a little surprised (probably disappointed). Passed second time though!

I wonder if they'll eventually do away with the estop for A2/A tests, with ABS being mandatory now. With the car test I believe it's optional (as in they can ask you to do one), I did all my lessons and passed my test without ever having done an emergency stop Confused

Failed it once due to going "2 metres too far" on the emergency stop. But that's about it. I was very confident with it so everything else was piss easy.

I did my worst ever emergency stop on the test, I banged the clutch in almost straight away* which's something I never normally do, the examiner saw this and gave me a strange look. I assume the distance was ok.

*although apparently that's a 'technique' some BCF users use

Listen to your favourite songs beforehand in the waiting room or do things that make you feel good.

Pump some DHEA in your body and it will relax you.

Mod 1's are easy in a sense because you only need to worry about yourself. Ride it as if you were riding with your friends and I am sure the revs will be fine.

Yes, you know how Brussels and Whitehall just love to admit that they were wrong and remove regulations.
