Heated grips are great, but they don't stop the front of your fingers getting pummeled with ice cold air.

Heated grips + muffs or hand guards and you can be in summer gloves all year round.

The Oxford premium greats are pretty nice, have them on both bikes. £50 a pair from fleabay.

I believe I've got a set of those hot hands lying around somewhere.
If I can find them and all the bits then you can have them for postage cost.

They came with my Hornet and I took them straight off and replaced them with some integrated hot grips. They're like wrapping the grips in a thick sock, and feels very odd.

They're also fabric, so if you leave them on your bike and it rains, they get soggy.

thanks for the offer mate, if you find them they would definitely be worth a try! Smile

Found them. I'd lost the fuse holder, but I've rigged one up from some spare wiring I had lying around, and tested it against a spare car battery and it all works OK (can you tell i'm a bit of a hoarder?...).

PM me your address and i'll get it posted off for you in-time for Christmas.

Muffs do slow getting your hands back in down, not much impact on getting them out.

Not sure how taking your hands off the bars will help with keeping a bike under control though.

It's maybe illogical, because you're right enough if I drop the bike in ice of mud on our track, it's not as if there's anything to grab on to. What about wiping your visor, something that needs to be done about a million times per journey if there's sleet of snow?
