I find that doing 30 MPH means people tend to wait and respect that I will hurt them if they try to cross the road right in front of me. At 20 MPH people seem to think it's OK because they feel in less danger...
I am happy to have 20 MPH in front of schools but on main roads, why? ____________________ Hit the G spot. |

People, we must never forget that the man used the roadway before the horse did.
We have no jaywalking rule in UK therefore Joe Pedestrian (and Willie Cyclist to a degree) are ultimately protected in law.
So it is rarely the pedestrian's fault really. If we are to be honest citizens.
Too many folk in a hurry.

Yeah yeah.
But when that pedestrian is reading his phone - which definitely did NOT come before the pedestrian OR the horse - and does not see you coming toward him (or her) (it) (they) (cis) (whatfucking ever) or hear your car indicating because they are listening to the 20 Greatest Hits of Marilyn and the Micturitionists, then that's their fuckin problem.

My tactic for traffic light beepers is I get out of the car/van looking bemused and start examining the rear of the vehicle
because the person (still ) stuck behind me has alerted me to a possible defect. Well that's how I play it anyway,
scratching my head, with my back to the deekheed, something like this
https://thumb10.shutterstock.com/display_pic_with_logo/305215/143895703/stock-photo-back-view-full-length-picture-of-a-young-business-man-standing-with-a-hand-on-his-hip-and-143895703.jpg
I try and keep up my charade until the lights change, shrug and get back in the car with a thank you wave to the person
behind. If you can believably ham it up a bit, this can get Mr Beepy impatient absolutely incandescent with rage.
"Sorry mate I thought you were telling me there was something wrong with my car, I've only been driving for a few weeks"
Give it a try. For the lulz. : ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

Do people really get that butthurt about being told it's green and it's time to stop texting? The only thing you should be doing at lights is waiting for them to go green... |
