I took my FZ6 down to Canterbury last weekend (3-5 Nov) to revisit my student & uni days & see some historical things!

Went M25, M26, M20 & came off at Maidstone, doing the back roads into Canterbury (A20, A252, A28).
Came back along the A2, A249, A20, A25. Thumbs Up

A little Sunday arvo ride locally, to alleviate my hangover.

Sadly, and expectedly, a tinnitus-inducing V-Twin on slightly damp and mucky roads did not help my hangover, and instead my fingertips were borderline decaying from the cold. Worth it.

I led a green lane ride in Cambs, then rode home on my own at dusk into Beds. Had to use my Honda as I smashed my Beta up a bit on Tuesday.

West Dean Gardens - But mostly via farm lanes on xr250. 85 miles.

Was a bit nippy and slimy muddy tarmac lanes were a bit sketchy on knobblies. But enjoyed a slower pace than normal and marvelled at the pretty scenery.

~100 miles run out to Bradwell and round the peninsula today. Cold and a little bit sketchy here and there on the roads, but glad I took the opportunity.

On Friday rode down to Fareham, via Streatley and Bassingstoke and Loomies. The roadworks on the A27 conintue, and I still can't see any difference.

Today rode home, Bassingstoke was a nightmare, A340 to Aldermarston closed off, so cut through Reading which was grim, but once I got to Sonning Common it was okay, stopped at the Herb Garden cafe for lunch, and had a cup of tea at Loomies, but really stopped to adjust the vents on my helmet, and change my gloves cos it stopped raining, I figured it would stop so I put my best pair in the top box to keep dry till I needed them.

Two of us on Honda CRF250L's rode into Northants. Used my waterproof Polaroid digital camera - with it's inbuilt crapify every photo setting.

Amazed that my mate kept up, he had stock tyres, i had Maxis Cross ITs, I went a bit slower for him, but even so good job.

I spent a fair bit of time riding sideways, and using my throttle to control the slides. 3 years ago I'd have been off a lot. Though in the slimey stuff, once I put a foot down found it hard to get back on the pegs again. Today I cam off just the once, but smacked the bike up a wee bit. Last photo was taken just before sunset, we had to ride back to the petrol station via four green lanes before dusk - or face an extra 20 mile road ride, and I had just a few minutes to bodge the bike up.

80 miles Guildford to Bognor and back. Thumbs Up

Only photos are the before / after as I waved goodbye to a clean/shiny bike until around March next year when it gets the next clean.

I've seen the diagrams of MotoGP bikes increasing the contact patch when being lent over, but i didn't fancy testing it out today Smile

If I rinse the bike now, the inches of ACF50 will come off you northern legend!

My bike is how I like my imaginary girlfriend to be. A bit filthy.......and chained up in my garage.

Probably last decent runout of the year on the CF650TR, Santa trip, dropping pressies off, Wolves to Moston to Oldham to Skelmersdale to Bolton to Blackpool and back home, 295 miles, almost considered riding that extra 5 miles!!

No photos, as the weather was manky !!

First decent run out of the year, distance wise, ~200 miles to visit family & so on, Wolves <-> Oldham, on the CF650TR, didn't bother stopping to take photos, as mainly just motorway both ways, having to get back in time for Hospital visiting hours. Well it's not strictly true that I didn't take any photos, as I did take a couple of photos at Knutsford services on the way home at dusk ..
