Here are the most recognisable lines from some of my favourite old films:

* I made him an offer he can't refuse.
* We are extremely hot chicks and we will give you oral pleasure.
* Red's dead, baby. Red's dead.
* Son, you got a panty on your head.
* You're gonna need a bigger boat.
* That really was a Hattori Hanzo sword.
* How come I get to be Mister Pink.

Do you mean Zed?

Indeed I do Laughing
My spellchecker struggles between Red and Zed for some reason.
Thank you Wub

What I find a pity is that my kids (in their 20s; and I'm sure they aren't unusual) all refuse point-blank to watch any films at all which were made in black-and-white, instantly ruling out loads of the old classics like Psycho (and many of the other Hitchcocks), Casablanca (and most contemporary WWII films), and all the 'golden age of Hollywood' stuff. When I was their age there were only 4 TV channels and no method of recording and/or watching films at home other than on live TV (hard to believe eh?) , and the 'midnight movie' was always a thing to watch. There was always an old B&W film to watch - the 1930s Bogart/Edward G Robinson/Jimmy Cagney gangster movies were always my thing as a teenager - and I saw loads of them.

But nowadays the kids' reaction is 'why would I want to watch that boring old crap in black-and-white when I can choose from a thousand recent films on cable TV, Netflix or DVD, all in glorious colour HD? Progress, I suppose Confused

And Control - 'shot in colour and then printed to black-and-white' Confused

Even when I was a little kid I liked very old b&w movies, I was fan of Will Hay for example, and remember being very unimpressed when I watched Cannon and Balls remake of Ask a Policeman (Boys in Blue) at a friends house - I was about 10 Laughing

I think it all started when I was off sick from school, and I used to watch things like Frankenstein versus the Wolfman on telly at night, or on a regular Saturday Morning, Harold Llloyd shorts, and Flash Gordon serial.

In fact, first DVD I ever owned, circa 2000 was Psycho Laughing

I saw the title, and thought of the film with Ray Liotta, completely different thing. And good, but not a classic. Ray Liotta deserves that status for something though, surely? Goodfellas has been mentioned. How about Revolver? A favourite of mine.

Ray Liotta is like Tony Curtis but with better bedroom eyes.

I love this forum. You usually bring back such great memories. For me when I was young it was the black and white James Cagney Junior movies.

“Made it, Ma! Top of the world!”

“You’ll slap me? You slap me in a dream, you better wake up and apologize.”

Some good ones already mentioned, particularly Ice Cold In Alex. I'll add,
    Flight of the Phoenix. (The Jimmy Stewart '60's one, not the dreadful 2004 Dennis Quaid remake).
    The Four Feathers. (The original or the remake.)
    The Man Who Would Be King.
    Battle Of Britain
