So how does the dark web work? My understanding is that we can only see around 10% of the internet using normal browsers instead of Tor?

I've heard things about your IP showing a different location or something? If anyone knows what I mean? Laughing

Anyway, am I missing much apart from CP and drugs?

TIA

No not really.

Just download the vidalia bundle and have a play. Very easy and not much to get excited about.

Most stats you have read in articles misunderstand the difference between the deep web and the dark web.

Oh, there's a difference? I thought it was the same thing just named differently. Embarassed

So yeah the web has public facing stuff like the BCF forum for example and then a bunch of behind the scenes stuff going on which isn't meant to be viewed directly. This is deep web stuff which isn't of interest to anyone really. Stuff like databases and cloud based stuff.

The deep web also contains the dark web which is websites that have been configured to only be accessible using a tor browser for anonymity purposes. Sure there is some dodgy stuff but it isn't easy to navigate and most people don't want to risk finding some cheese pizza even though with Tor you are probably fine.

As I said before, it isn't really exciting unless you want drugs and then it becomes a whole different story.

Thanks for the info... I think I'm going to stay away then if I'm not missing anything remotely interesting.
