I do a lot of remapping on cars and sometimes they need a stabilised power supply if they have running lights etc on with ign. I just thought it may save me getting the large start charge unit out all the time.
Unfortunately bikeless at the mo but on the lookout for a classic to tinker with.

Not really suitable for modern cars then. It would take 24+ hours to charge an 80amp car battery.

You mean 80 amp.hour, I expect.

It's a trickle charger, probably suitable for maintaining charge on the battery of a stored car.

If you've left the lights on and your car has a flat 80 amp.hour battery, start it with jump leads from another car and go for a drive.

Or use an appropriate charger. Thumbs Up

Useful advice thanks: make sure you've bought a huge charger for much more money and always flatten your car battery within the range of the flex.

Thanks for your concern. Conveniently I already have a large 12/24v 180 amp max charger/booster which trickles at up to 40 amps or so. I also have a 24v 90amp generator strapped to the engine of my truck conveniently with a split charge system to charge a second set of batteries so should be ok.

I only posted so people knew it was a bit on the small size for modern cars.

They must have been very popular here as I went the day after this thread was posted and got the last one (box open, charger and instructions out etc).

Now I've charged a few batteries in the past, so think I've got an idea what I'm doing.... I almost shit myself when there was a massive spark when connecting up the negative terminal (charger wasn't even plugged in at that point). Turns out the battery I thought was fucked when I replaced it was still sitting at 12.5v when I connected it up Embarassed
