Good job that was a one off which will never happen again.

It keeps your outie from becoming an innie in the cold.
I had one on my Burgman, it was even acer. Tucano do scootay specific models that seal round the bodywork to make a cosy cocoon. You could wear slippers and still be comfy, not that I did, much. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Well aware of that, but it was the rear brake for me, the front is in good nick possibly already seized in the past and fixed ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

Very posh, I've just got the abba lift + wheels and it's excellent, when I have a garage I want one of those skylift things.
Got my bike back from the garage today (in for a major service), excellent service from M&S in Newcastle, they had a winter discount + free pick up and delivery deal on. Cleaned the bike and checked it over, cleaned the brakes and oiled and adjusted the chain. Even got progress pics ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

Was due to ride the Fazer up to the ISS today on a supply drop but NASA called it off due to bad weather.
So I used the opportunity to scrutinise the consumables and give the front calipers a clean.
Chain looks OK to say it's done 36 million miles around the milky way. Scottoiler for the win.

Moving on to the front calipers. Left side up first.

A quick clean with brake cleaner revealed the dust seals are shot in at least one pot.

Pads which are EBC HH have plenty of material left on them.
https://i.imgur.com/xBHvW3Q.jpg
Things aren't quite as rosey with the right caliper.
For a start the pin what holds the pads in appears to have welded its self to the caliper.
https://i.imgur.com/1n0UGSo.jpg
Good blasting with brake cleaner before being molested with the wire brush didn't persuade it to come out nor did my attempts to twat it out with a punch.
https://i.imgur.com/ygTnNF5.jpg
I admitted defeat and let it win the battle but the war is not over as I will be back. Cleaned the caliper the best I could with the pads in place.
Pads same as the left side EBC HH haven't faired quite as well as the left caliper and need replacing. Interesting.

So looks like I will be doing a front caliper overhaul at some point in the very near future. I can't complain they have been through the past four winters trouble free.
New seal kit ordered. |

Installed new races in the 750 ready for the new tapered bearings.

Top race is supposed to sit proud, was going to fit the new bronze swing arm bushes but the ID allowed for more play than I found acceptable.
Picked this idea up from members of the sohc forum in lieu of a bearing press, unfortunately one of the 49mm washers I made at work was a little too soft and it distorted a little. "Luckily" my parents washing machine packed in the other week and the bearing cage happened to be the ideal size of 48/49mm (the lower race sits slightly recessed in the headstock tube).

New/alternative swing arm bushes are in order (otherwise I may modify the swing arm roller or something of the sort). ____________________ Current: 55 FZS 1000S, 02 FZS 1000, 77 CG 125, 04 XR 125 Some Bike Pics...

Got an old garden feature from a friend, it was damaged. So messing around when a DPD driver comes by he has to wait so I can sign. Start showing him the bike and we came up of using this to carry tweety pie for the local charity run. Needs some work to it strengthening and a base being made plus paint.

Put on Acerbis front fender bag, haven't drilled holes and cable tied, probably will after first outing, want to see how I get on with it, might need to move it nearer to light, don't want to drill holes everywhere.
Bodged Kreiga 5litre dri-pack onto back, rather than four bolts with the restraining straps, traditional cable ties, and extra bodge points for using part of an old dog harness. slip it over back end, then thread it through bag, and use locking clip. Back end is already bodgetastic after smashing it up, so lots of holes for cable ties already, and don't want to drill more holes in back end.

I much prefer to see bodyguards used bike than some toy dragged out for picture and then put back away. Bodyguard please keep the lovely pictures coming. ____________________ Your backside is better enough for you to run again, if need be – bristle up the courage of the cornered rat, put on a bold front, and to hell with them.
