2002 gilera runner vxr

used it sunday with no problem

went to get it out of the garage and it wont start

all lights are working horn indicators etc battery is strong 12.5 when tested

even tried jumping it off car

the starter wont even try to engage

its as if the button doesn't work

so is it the button or the starter?

As Borg says, first tap solenoid at base to see if its stuck, and if it still doesn't start. take a screwdriver with an insulated handle and bridge the terminals. Be prepared for sparks, so don't have petrol about when you do....

It may be some thing as simple as a terminal connector fallen off
1 visual check
2 get a meter on it

I saw this on an aprilia mojito (same engine I think) Under the front plastics was the starter relay which a wire had vibrated off of, damn spade connectors!
