Hello Everybody!

I have recently passed my Motorcycle A2 test which was an amazing experience to say the least!

Now, full time on a motorcycle, I am loving every second of it and finally decided it was time to get online and meet others who share the same passion as I do!

If anyone is around the Edinburgh Area Hit me up so we can go for a ride sometime and do some photography as well!

Not sure quite sure if I understand what you are getting at?

Is a 300cc not a good A2 compliant bike or?

Well, at least it has exclusivity.

Okay then, I take it that it's not all too popular on here then?

I do apologise as I am only a new Rider and the bike did appeal to me, especially for the Uni runs I do!

No, I mean, being from Edinburgh.

I guess someone has to live there. I honour your sacrifice.

How are you finding the mini-Beemer? Any recalls yet?

Roger is just bitter because the paint fell off the sump on his BMW making it look untidy.

Is there stil an Edinburgh uni bike club?

It USED to be the oldest bike club in Scotland. We had a flat down on McDowall road and a fuly equipped garage on Causewayside and over 100 members.

Ahh, Nostalgia. First Tueday chip shop runs to North Berwick, First Thursdays at Ledburn with a free plice chase all the way home and taking five hours to get the assorted oddments that vaguely passed as functional motorcycles as far as Tyndrum,

Changed days now though. Make sure you have a really good lock.

Been OK so far as it's been when he left it. When it's not it'll be a case of finding it via a long walk around the local parks.

OP - pics of said machine if you will.

Well I've yet to see anyone else on here claim to own one? I had no idea until I googled it. In the pics it looks a bit 125ey.
It's probably the exhaust, maybe I'd add a nice rorty can, but smaller overall than the OE offering. I think it upsets the
scale of the bike.

Most people get bored of them very quickly, it will feel like a rocket ship after being on a 125cc but that will soon wear off.

Depends what you're after I suppose.

Will it get you from A to B? Yes.
Will it excite you after a few months of ownership? Maybe not..

Anyway, welcome Thumbs Up

It's fine as an idea, less is more (down to a point) for fun commuting. Granted it's about 20% less than a Duke 390, which raises the issue of it being another Indian made bike.

Their track record hasn't been great. The mini-Dukes, the fluxxing CBF125, and heh heh Royal Enfields spring to mind.

Maybe this will be different, although with BMW propping up the reliability charts even for their in-house offerings, I'd probably want one on PCP with the option to rent then walk away.

it is quite a big hit in some place
my friend in Taiwan told me, his order have no shipping date yet
it is an A2 friendly bike, and being less than 400cc is great in some Asia countries, but i guess it is the indian made scare ppl away.
my friend have a CBF after CBT, and it is a disaster
hopefully being a BMW, they will have better QC, at least i never have any major issue with both my 650GS and 650GS

BMW's modern reliability record is dreadful compared to Japanese marques or even the Italians and Triumph.

No oil cooler problems on your 650?

I am absolutely loving the bike! In two months so far that I have had it, reliability has not been an issue at all. Servicing Is a little expensive (BMW) but apart from that it has economised my life in many other ways.

Reliability worse than Italian is sad and despairing

nah, both my 650GS single and twin are used, from a friend who is a BMW GS enthusiast, might have been fix before passing to me
the biggest issue i have with my 650 was the rectifier

Did you take any pictures in that 2 months?

Give us a laugh then - how much is the servicing?

I should hope not. Mind you, that bass ackwards engine is gagging for some novelty issues like cooking the reg/rec or flooding the injector. Honestly, we'll be disappointed if it doesn't produce some lulz.

Hello, I've never been to Edinburgh, but I've read Ian Rankin, if that helps.

It's more authentic if you shoplift the books.
