Right, trying to find a good set of tyres for my bike which has 130/70/17 on the rear wheel. most tyres i like the look of come in 130/80/17. will this be alright to put on or will it cause problems?

It'll raise the profile by 10% of the width or 13mm. It might FEEL weird when you first use it but then so would going from a worn out tyre to a new tyre of the same size you have.
