Hi,
So I broke a 6 mm diameter bolt, and I am left with 5mm stud sticking out from a center stand pivot (see pic). I need to remove it so that I can unscrew the pivot. There are many tools and methods, but not sure if those are appropriate for 5mm long 6mm diameter bolts. Should I buy a bolt extractor dills, Impact Stud Extractor or 1/2drive stud extractor or other extractor. I am on limited budget and 5 mm grip makes it difficult. THx

My bike YBR125

Lots of plus gas and a set of GOOD (not Chinese) mole grips or a GOOD (not Chinese) Stillsons.

Or you could file flats on it and use a spanner.

If you are going to drill it, I would be drilling and collapsing the thread wall with a cold chisel and then running down with a tap.

I GUARANTEE that if you drill and use a stud extractor it will shear off.

Shall I highlight the caps just to make sure Laughing Thumbs Up

Oh, and Linuxyeti, Chinese tools are worse than Chinese bikes, happy? Cool

If you try to undo it, LOTS of heat on it after the penetrating spray.

But you'll land up drilling it.

I'm unclear which part of the bike it's on. Is this part of the frame or part of the stand?

M6 seems a bit thin for a center stand pivot. Even my tiny RXS uses M8.

I'd flaten either side and put a spanner on it if it isn't too small to do so.

Solved
So I went to a local workshop. They tried to remove it using the pilers. But since I had a new center stand pivot bolt the guys decidded that the best it would be to remove the old bolt entirely. It was hard to remove (8 years of Scottish weather). They welded a nut to the bold and unscrew the bolt using large ratchet like wrench. TBH I wouldn't be able to do it at home.

It’s worth having a set of unfuckers for stuff like this.
Linky
I bought some for work, never used them, then they dug me out the shit a few weeks ago and saved me a good hour on a breakdown.
