It turns out that Bangham really is a piece of shit.

Bangham is chairman of the "Road Charity Trust", the members of the Trust are the 43 police forces of England, Wales and Northern Ireland!

The trust owns a subsidiary "UKROEd".

UKROEd wrote:
"This company oversees the central administration, development, and quality of six courses currently offered by police officers as an educational alternative to prosecution. Any surplus from the company’s activity is donated to the Trust in order for it to achieve its charitable objectives"
.

https://roadsafetytrust.org.uk/about-us/

No conflict of interest there then, no siree! Rolling Eyes

So Bangham is not only a piece of shit, he's a corrupt piece of shit!
He should be sacked and the, gobshite, meeja who report this garbage should do a little digging before printing the free advertising!

especially like this little gem

Quote:
Mr Freeman said: "It is unenforceable, it is perverse, it is dangerous and it is a bit rich from the Chief Constable of West Mercia when violent crime in his area has increased by 16 per cent, sexual offences by 16 per cent and overall crimes by 13 per cent."

There are "limited resources" and the public would expect them to be focused on serious crime rather than "penalising" motorists for going 1mph over the limit, he said.

Whilst it is true that if you have an accident the consequences will be worsened as speed increases, the best way to survive an accident is not to have one in the first place. Poor skills, awareness and judgement, the cause of most accidents, are completely untargeted.

...and poor road design. Having been a passenger where I've seen something, wondered if the driver was going to brake, looked at him then seen them stamp on the brakes, I feel confident in driving a little bit faster Very Happy

If you could do that, they'd call it a deliberate, wouldn't they?

I rather liked this snippet hat Mr. Loophole said...

they need to review limits to make sure they are appropriate, including the 70mph limit on the motorway which was set in the 1950s as it was the top speed of the Ford Anglia.

I presume that is true or he wouldn't have mentioned it. I wonder why they chose a Ford Anglia Laughing

That's why they're called collisions rather than accidents. Razz

In the car I'm checking the speedo when near cameras, that's all.

On the bike, the numbers are barely discernable, I believe, I think I glanced at them one time when buying it, after asking the seller 'how fast does it go mister?'

I've seen unmarked cars but hardly ever a traffpol liveried vehicle. I SPEED EVERY DAY, there I said it.

Got caught once in 97, never since. Then again they never discovered the bodies either. Whistle
